On Saturday, we got up and went to the breakfast bar at Embassy Suites, and it was awesome.
It set us on the right track for the rest of the day!
After we packed our things and checked-out, we hit the road. For me it was sad to leave Charlotte,
because it had been my last show. Everyone else was continuing on to the Raleigh show, but I needed
to get back to Colorado, so I knew that I would be flying out on Sunday. The cool thing about today
was that on our way from Charlotte back to Clayton, we planned to go through Durham, and stop to see
the infamous Sleepyhouse.
While we were en route, I got a call from Keith. He asked us where we were, because some of them were
considering changing their plans to stay for the Raleigh show instead of returning home. I let him know
where we were at, and that we were planning to go see the Sleepyhouse. After telling him what mile-marker
we were at, he just kind of laughed and said that they were about two miles ahead of us. So we both pulled
over at the same exit, so we could start a convoy! My reaction to our unplanned travel and finding that we
were very close to being on the same schedule and headed in the same direction, was that we were “birds of
a feather”.
So we headed on down the road, as Sonya & Greg navigated us towards the Sleepyhouse. And we pulled into a
quaint little neighborhood in Durham and parked at a church across the street.
It was a nice two-story home, and I could definitely picture Blind Melon living here. The neighborhood
seemed like a very relaxed place to live.
We all got a chance to take photos of the house, and as we were doing this, some neighbors in the next
house over walked out onto their porch to watch all these strange people. Here are a few of my pics of
the notorious Sleepyhouse.

I also had a couple of minutes to make a quick sketch of it before we left on the rest of our journey.

Later that day, we all met up at Greg & Sonya's house and we had a good time hanging out. Eventually the
guitars and drums were discovered by the group, and an impromptu jam session occurred. Many Blind Melon
songs were played and it was like a big Kumbaya sing along!(Thanks to Greg & Sonya for the pics)
